I will no longer be using this blog for my business. I’m excited to announce the launch of my new blog site, so go ahead and bookmark http://phillipadugaw.com/
This is such a cute family. They are young, energetic, fun to be around and extremely photogenic. I get to see them once a year on their family vacation to the NW. This was my opportunity to finally get them infront of my camera for a mini session.

Do you guys remember that lovely couple I photographed back in December (Don’t They Look Like Movie Stars)? Well I am thrilled to announce that they were married in July on a beautiful Friday afternoon in Edmonds, WA. It was a small intimate setting on the roof of the Edmonds Library, a location that had an amazing view of the Olympics and the daily commute of the ferry. it was an honor to capture their special day. Congratulations Risa and Jeff – wishing you both a lifetime of blessings.

Last year I had the opportunity to donate a portrait session to the University Food Bank silent auction. Instead of doing a portrait session, the lovely family that purchased the session asked me to take pictures at their daughters birthday party. I was excited to do something a little different but I have to admit it was a challenging evening. It didn’t have anything to do with the subjects, they were energetic and beautiful. It was me, I had run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle half marathon in the morning and my legs and energy were shot.
Here are a few fun images from party.

We had a wonderful time on our trip home in February. Visiting with family and friends is always a highlight for us as well as eating some good food and seeing some beautiful places.
This year we had three families from Seattle join us for one week. It was a new and different experience for me. I had some anxiety about it but I was also excited to show them the place where I grew up. Here are just a handful of my favourite moments.
Enjoying tea for Grandma’s birthday
Playing on the beach, eating the sand

I hope you can all forgive me for neglecting my blog, my clients, my friends and my faithful readers. Heading to Jamaica I was hoping to give you a post every two to three days. When that didn’t happen I figured you deserved a good post on our return to Seattle. When that didn’t happen I knew I would have to grovel.
I’m back my friends with some really fun and exciting changes. It’s all in the works (things that will probably take another 3-4 months to complete) but the process has begun. We came back from Jamaica to see our new home office complete and looking as beautiful as ever. We are working on a logo and some branding for Phillipa D. Photography, along with a whole new look and a new approach to this blog. My hope is to do one big reveal with a couple of sneak peaks here and there.
Your first sneak peak is our new quiet office space.
We’ll talk about Jamaica the next time we meet.

Are you going to be watching the Winter Olympics? Is there an athlete that you are following closely? Coming from a warm island like Jamaica there are very few moments for us at this time of the year. Yes, we’ve had the Bobsled Team and no they will not be there for the 2010 games. This year the Jamaicans were hoping to follow a young man named Errol Kerr. For the Seattle folks, many of us are following Apolo.
Here are just a few images of him as he passed through town.
